Rye game called-off
Snow and ice continue to hit the football programme
Rye United’s match away to Selsey today (Saturday) has been postponed.
The Sussex County Football League Division One fixture was called-off due to a frozen pitch after a 10.30am inspection.
Selsey had hoped this morning’s sunshine would thaw the surface following a heavy overnight frost, but it wasn’t to be.
The call-off means that all six of the area’s senior clubs are without a game today as Hastings United, Bexhill United, Little Common, Sidley United and Westfield have also had their contests postponed.
The reserve teams of Bexhill, Common, Rye, Sidley and Westfield are also left kicking their heels for the second successive weekend.
