Although still winless since the end of August, Bexhill United Football Club will tackle table-topping opposition tomorrow (Saturday) in better spirits.

The Pirates have narrowly lost both their games over the past week, but manager Marc Munday was encouraged by the performance in Wednesday night’s 2-1 defeat at Mile Oak.

It will be a tough one, but I’m not going to sit back.

He said: “It was our best performance for a long time. We actually had a 90-minute performance, everyone played really well. No-one could understand how we’ve not come away with the win.

“If we can just use that as a platform, and take that workrate and performance into the next game, we should start climbing again. But we’ve got to get that win and that initial break.”

From Bexhill’s perspective there’d be no better way of getting back on track than by winning at home to Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One top dogs Storrington tomorrow.

“It will be a tough one, but I’m not going to sit back,” added Munday. “We want to get a win as soon as possible.”

Jack Aston and Nathan Tudor are away, and George Aston is still banned, but Josh Elliott-Noye should return.

Kick-off at The Polegrove is 3pm.
