Little Common Football Club is hoping to play in the FA Vase for the first time next season.

The Commoners have received an ‘H’ grading from the FA’s ground grading committee, which allows them to enter the prestigious national knockout competition.

Common, who play in Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division Two, have applied to play in the 2015/16 FA Vase and are now waiting to learn if their application has been successful.

The club has also confirmed the following pre-season friendlies: Saturday July 11 Rusthall (a) 3pm, Tuesday July 21 Newhaven (a) 7.45pm, Saturday July 25 Alford (a) 2pm, Saturday August 1 Eastbourne Town at Eastbourne 3G 2pm, Tuesday August 4 Lydd Town (a) 7.45pm.

Little Common collected four awards, meanwhile, at the league’s end of season presentation evening, which took place at East Sussex National on Saturday evening.

The under-18s picked up their Youth Section (East) league runners-up medals along with the sportsmanship trophy, while hot shot Nick Richardson won the golden boot for the second successive season after scoring an impressive 43 league goals.

Common’s adult second team was presented with the Reserve Section Challenge Cup following their victory in the county competition at the beginning of May.
