Little Common Football Club’s scheduled match tonight (Tuesday) has now been postponed as the pitch has been deemed unsafe.
The Little Common Recreation Ground pitch passed an initial 3pm inspection, but failed a second inspection in the last half-hour and the Macron Store Southern Combination Football League Division One fixture at home to Langney Wanderers has been called-off.
It means Common still haven’t played a league game since the festive derby victory over Bexhill United on December 28 and haven’t played a fixture of any description for three weeks. Langney haven’t played at all since the turn of the year.
Common are seventh in the table - three points and two places above Langney having played three extra fixtures. The sides are yet to meet in the league this season, although they did go head-to-head in a Division One Challenge Cup tie at the Recreation Ground, which Langney won on penalties.
As previously reported, Hastings United’s scheduled trip to Hythe Town in Ryman Football League Division One South tonight has been postponed after the Reachfields pitch failed a morning inspection.
