United hoping for rare away joy
Hastings United will be looking for a long overdue win on their travels when they visit Ashford Town (Middlesex) today (Saturday).
Tony Dolby's play-off challengers have failed to win away from home in seven Ryman Premier matches since getting the better of Carshalton Athletic in mid-November.
There have been some decent results on the road including draws at the likes of Sutton United and AFC Hornchurch, but as the Hastings manager admitted: "There is nothing like picking up three points."
In midweek, The U's went down 1-0 at play-off rivals Wealdstone with the only goal coming in the first half from the penalty spot after full back Tyrone Sterling was adjudged to have to handled.
Despite the defeat Hastings remain in fourth place, still very much in the promotion picture going into the final 10 matches of the campaign - six of which are away.
"We're still in a good position but we've got to work hard to stay there," Dolby went on.
Tim Olorunda remains sidelined with damaged ankle ligaments and fellow midfielder Lee Carey completes a three-match suspension.
