An annual celebration of all things floral will return for its 27th year in Bexhill this weekend.

Christchurch Methodist Church, in Springfield Road, Bexhill, will be celebrating its Festival of Flowers from Saturday (May 23) until Monday (May 25).

This year the theme will be In Praise of Paper and the displays will reflect the many uses of paper including newspapers, maps and books.

There is no admission but an opportunity to make a donation to Computers for Charities, Methodist District Children’s Holidays and ongoing church projects.

On Saturday (May 23) and Monday (May 25) the festival will be open from 10am to 4.30pm. In addition to the displays there will be lunches and cream teas, stalls, competitions and live music in the church.

On Sunday (May 24) special services will be held at 10.30pm and 6pm with the festival open from 2pm to 4.30pm when cream teas will be served.

Last year almost 1,000 people visited the festival and the members of the Church Ladies Supper Club responsible for the weekend are looking forward to another busy and successful occasion.
