Audiences thrilled by summer of organ recital

The penultimate organ concert of the summer series at All Saints Church, Hastings will be on Monday August 24 at 7.30 pm.

The performer will be Dr Peter King from Bath Abbey. His programme includes music by Guilmant, Saint-Saens, Handel, Ximenes, Wolstenholme, Mendelssohn , Franck and Stanford. It is sure to be an exciting concert, exploiting to the full all the variety of sounds on the renowned Father Willis Organ. Refreshments are available in the interval and tickets are £8 available at the door.

Simon Bell, Director of Choral Music and Organist at Deans Close School in Cheltenham gave a superb concert the previous Monday. The music included works by Guilmant, Bach, Mendelssohn and Elgar. His finale was a performance of the complete Symphonie VI by Widor. It was excellent to have it played in its entirety. His dexterity and strength of fingerwork were very impressive, coupled with great sensitivity in the lyrical movements. An extremely talented musician who greatly delighted his large audience.
