Battle Choral Society returns to St. Johns Church, Pevensey Road, St Leonards on Sea, for their Autumn concert on Saturday November 28.
The music is the Stabat Mater composed by Antonin Dvorak. He was a prolific composer of beautiful melodies, and many are aware of his New World Symphony.
The Stabat Mater is a lovely setting of a famous mediaeval poem, and although born out of tragic personal circumstances, it inspired the composer’s finest choral work.
The Publicity Officer Iva Barnes reports that arrangements for this concert are altered for this one concert, with doors open from 7 pm for the audience to enjoy a complimentary drink, followed at 8 pm by the concert.
They hope that this different schedule will attract their usual enthusiastic gathering.
