You might currently be loving Rob Brydon as host of Would I Lie To You? on Friday night TV, and a marvellous start to the weekend it is too.

Rob is also known for his work in the hit series Gavin and Stacey and The Trip as well as Marion and Geoff, Human Remains, Little Britain, The Rob Brydon Show, Best of Men, Gangster Granny, Q.I. and Have I Got News For You.

Now he is taking on his first stand-up tour for eight years, called I Am Standing Up. He visits Bexhill’s De La Warr Pavilion on Friday March 10 but also swings into Hastings on March 23 when he will perform the show at the White Rock Theatre.

Rob is a Welsh actor, comedian, radio and television presenter, singer and impressionist. First coming to the public’s attention in 2000 with the shows Marion and Geoff and Human Remains, and subsequently winning British Comedy Awards for both, he has since become a household name.

After making his theatre debut in 2011 playing opposite Kenneth Branagh in The Painkiller at The Lyric Theatre in Belfast, he reprised the role in London last year and has also starred in Future Conditional at The Old Vic, as well as Alan Ayckbourn’s A Chorus of Disapproval and his one man show Rob Brydon Live in the West End. His film work includes The Huntsman - Winter’s War, Cinderella, and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels.

He has won five British Comedy Awards, a GQ Man Of The Year Award, a Royal Television Society Award and in 2013 was awarded an M.B.E.

He is currently working on the third series of The Trip with Steve Coogan, in which the pair starred as fictionalised versions of themselves on a restaurant tour of northern England, then Italy in the second series; this time the pair are visiting Spain.
