Experts now think changing ocean currents will halt global warming for the next ten years, but Bexhill & Hastings United Nations Association's next free public talk will focus on the longer-term outlook.

In the light of last year's inconclusive climate conference in Bali, Hazel Dawe, Chairwoman of Kent Green Party, will ask, "What can the UN really do about climate change?"

Her talk will start at 11am on Saturday, May 17, in Parkhurst Hall, Parkhurst Road, Bexhill. Coffee will be available from 10.30. All welcome.

The private organic fruit and vegetable garden at 13 Thornbank Crescent will again be opened to the public this month to benefit Bexhill & Hastings United Nations Association. It will be open from 10am to 12noon on Bank Holiday Monday, May 26.

Admission is 1.50 and will include coffee, served indoors if the weather is cold or wet. The garden holds over 80 different varieties of fruit trees and bushes and the house has solar panels which generate electricity.
