LAST Thursday one of our senior club members, with a little help from his wife, gave an intriguing illustrated travelogue through the kingdoms North of Bangladesh (formerly East Pakistan).

Chris and Halina Martin travelled deep into this vast delta region in a small tour bus, complete with a guide and armed guard; needless to say Chris was also armed with a selection of cameras.

He returned with hundreds of images some on slide and many more digital, he converted them all to a digital file that were then shown through our digital projector system (kindly provided by a Lottery grant) and presented by our digital secretary Paul Carrington.

We saw some stunning scenery and also got the flavour of the local environment, the people and the exquisite colours of the area.

Chris and Halina travelled as far as Bhutan and then on to Sikkim, which only seemed a stones throw from the 8.848 thousand-metre peak of Mount Everest in the adjacent Kingdom of Nepal.

These ranges of mountains were often portrayed in the distance of many of Chris's landscapes.

David Rossiter gave the vote of thanks at the end of a fascinating evening.

The next meeting is on Thursday, February 19, at the Friends Meeting House Albert Road at 7.30pm and will surely be a treat for all members this year when the Hailsham Club present their audio/visual by digital projection instead of the normal slide format (using two projectors).

Interest from any aspiring photographers or otherwise should make an effort to come along or telephone our secretary Ray Barry 216297 or visit our web site at www.bexhillphotoclub.co.uk
