Christchurch Singers £1,300 for hospice

Their first free concert was held at Christchurch Methodist Church last Sunday in the presence of Cllr Jimmy Carroll, Chairman of Rother, and Cllr Stuart Earl. Dr Paul Wright made an appeal on behalf of St Michael’s Hospice, and the audience responded with £870.

A second concert at St Barnabas Church raised a further £276, and some unable to attend made donations to bring the total raised to £1300. Since 2008 the choir has raised £9631 for charities dear to their hearts, and members are already looking forward to their next ‘Music for a Summer’s Evening’, due to be held at Christchurch Methodist Church on June 18 at 7pm.

Secretary Chris Cox said: “We have a win-win situation - the choir do what they love best, singing, and the chosen charities benefit as a result.”
