Cooden Millenium Townswomen Guild

AN excellent turn out of members for our Christmas party.

Tables were set and looked very nice with a lovely poinsettia in the centre of each table with crackers and hats looked very festive.

We were welcomed by our chairperson Mrs Freda Appleyard who told her usual amusing, if lengthy joke, appreciated by all. Mrs Appleyard kept business short as our secretary was away and treasurer although at the meeting had had a nasty accident and was under par, we all wished her well. Birthday cards were presented to several members - and we had a few birthday cards to our club for others in the area.

Minutes of last meeting read and business finished early.

We had had Christmas lunch at the Cooden Beach Hotel several days before and everyone said how much they enjoyed it and how nice it was and how helpful the staff were (praise indeed).

We then had tea, mince pies and shortbread which went down well. Raffle drawn and the poinsettia on each table won with a ticket beneath their plate.

We were then entertained by the singing partnership "Gin and Tonic" and pianist. They have a new routine this year and we, I believe, were the first to see it. Different, amusing and appreciated. A lovely time had by all. We meet on the first Wednesday in the month, 2-4pm, membership closed at the moment.
