In March or April Mr Michael Plumbe has agreed to give an illustrated talk on his recent visit to South America.

Also next year the following two speakers have agreed to give talks to the branch: the Rt. Hon Lord David Hunt of the Wirrall, Chairman of the ESU and former Government Minister, and Mr Daniel Hannan, MEP for the South East. The dates and venues for these events are still being negotiated.

The Australian High Commissioner HE Mr Richard Alston had agreed that either he or one of his staff would give a talk to the Branch, however he has now left.

The new High Commissioner is HE Mr John Dauth so we have asked him if he will come or send one of his senior staff to give a talk to the branch, a reply is still awaited.

In June a coach trip is being organized for a 'behind the scenes' visit to the Theatre Royal in Brighton.

The committee is approaching a number of other Embassies, High Commissions and other organisations to find more interesting speakers.

The committee hopes that members will support and enjoy these events and it will be pleased if they will put forward their own proposals for future speakers and events.
