Spokesman Andrew Mier said: “The show is great fun - we have a lot of supporters within the village, and it is a social event as well as artistic. There is a wide range of work because we have got all sorts of artists - some of them are well established and have sold a lot of work and some have cards printed from work which they sell, and others are complete beginners. There is an enormous variety...in fact when we were critiqued by Dr Richard Baines he mentioned that one thing that so enjoyable about the show was the variety of work that was included. We have that because we have different artists all working with different techniques who all have their own expression.” Dr Baines is a Past President of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, a painter, engraver, lecturer, writer, broadcaster and critic. Retired now he is spends much of his time painting, with the countryside around Fairlight as his focus.

Tickets are available from Fairlight Post Office or phone Sue on 01424-250111. Most pictures are for sale, so why not grab a bargain?
