FESTIVITIES REVIEW: The Chichester String Ensemble

The Chichester String Ensemble gave one of the opening concerts of this year’s Festivities to a capacity and very enthusastic audience in Christ Church on Sunday afternoon.

The concert included the haunting Slow movement from Mahler’s 5th Symphony and the ever popular Serenade for Strings by Tchaikovsky. The concert had started with the well known (if you listen to Classic FM!) Canon by Pachelbel and other pieces featuring expert harp, cello and trumpet soloists. Music on Sundays meets monthly at 2.30pm (except August) in Christ Church and its members enjoy the whole variety of Chamber music and on 25th September will welcome the West Sussex Guitar Club-the largest and most active Guitar Club in the UK. It also welcomes new members see musiconsundays.co.uk for further information.
