Film night and also live music fundraiser

Showing at Rye Community Film Club this evening (Friday at 7pm) is powerful movie Suffragette.

Maud Watts (Carey Mulligan) is one of the foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, striving to gain the vote and a measure of equality for women in the early part of the 20th century.

The Hotfoot Specials will then be playing a fundraising gig at the Rye Community Centre on Saturday April 9.

Tickets are £10 from Grammar School Records; call on 01797 222752, or buy on the door.

The gig starts 8pm, with doors at 7.30pm, and there will be a licensed bar. All proceeds are to benefit the Community Centre and a great night is guaranteed!
