Hastings and Bexhill Organ & Keyboard Society

A LARGE audience of members and visitors attended last month's conert by Penny Weedon, playing her Yamaha EL 900 together with the latest addition to the Yamaha range the Tyros 3.

Penny's brilliant playing and a varied choice of music all linked together by an on screen presentation delighted a very appreciative audience.

The artist for a Christmas concert on Thursday, December 11 is Tony Stace - a great favourite of many of our members, having played for us on a number of occasions in the past.

He started to play at the age of nine on his father's Hammond T500, his father taught him for a year and then arranged for private tuition from Ray Fox.

At the age of 11 Tony played his first concert for 100 friends and family and enjoyed every minute of it. To encourage Tony, and to indulge his own passion for his son's music, his father bought him a new Elka E49 for his 13th birthday.

Since then Tony has gone from strength to strength winning many competitions and awards and is in great demand on the organ circuit both here and abroad.

In 2004 he was awarded the trophy for the keyboard/organist of the year (an award voted for by the listening public) and this promises to be a great pre Christmas evening.
