Impressive show of work from Rye artists

The Rye Society of Artists 64th summer exhibition is open in its new venue at the Dance Hall, Community Centre, Rye.

The walls are hung with paintings, photographs, original etchings and drawings with Royal Academicians hanging next to local artists submitting work for the first time. There is a variety of ceramics ranging from the domestic ware of Judith Rowe to the sculptural ‘Blood Head’ of Tony Bennett. This creative display features 300 hundred works by 65 artists. The new space is ideal for hanging paintings and there are striking works on show, from artists like Matt Hardman, while Richard Adams, Louis Turpin and Fred Cuming RA are among others exhibiting. Open daily 10.30–5.30pm until August 31.
