The quartet is Wellins on tenor sax, Mark Edwards on Piano, Andy Cleyndert on bass and Spike Wells on drums.

Bobby Wellins is perhaps one of the most revered figures on the British jazz scene. In the 1980s he led his own quartet with Pete Jacobsen, Andy Cleyndert and Spike Wells. Pianist and composer Mark Edwards has worked with a wide range of musicians and bands including Chris Rea, Nina Simone and Aztec Camera. Andy Cleyndert toured with the Gene Harris Quartet and worked regularly with the singer Annie Ross. Spike Wells played with Tubby Hayes, in both his quartet and his big band, until the saxophonist’s death in 1973 and has also worked with many visiting soloists at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club.
