London Winds are blowing at Vinehall

The International Classical Concert Series at Vinehall continues its 25th Anniversary season with its second concert.

On Saturday, November 2 at 7.30pm the leading ensemble London Winds, led my the internationally renowned clarinettist Michael Collins, will return to Vinehall.

From early days, when he won the wind section of the BBC Young Musician Competition aged 16, Michael Collins has recorded and performed all the great clarinet concertos around the world, has established himself as a conductor and also leads London Winds in their chamber music repertoire.

The Gramophone Magazine said “Michael Collins plays (and conducts) with an irresistible exuberance that I’ve not heard equalled.”

The ensemble, who will perform works by Strauss, Mozart and Beethoven, is a stunning combination of virtuoso players who also enjoy active solo careers, London Winds’ performances are renowned for their technical brilliance, interpretative vision and joie de vivre.

The BBC Music Magazine praised them saying, “Competition in this repertoire is pretty formidable…but the London Winds are second to none in terms of technical accomplishment, expressive commitment and warmth of timbre.”
