Opera brings drama at its best

OPERA South East promises a feast for the eyes and ears with their new production of Bizet’s Madame Butterfly, coming to the White Rock Theatre on October 25 and 26.

Director Fraser Grant once again brings his experience to the company this autumn, and the company is joined by two new soloists, Elizabeth Roberts in the role of Butterfly, and James Heath as Pinkerton.

One of the most popular operas ever composed, Madame Butterfly tells the tale of a teenage geisha trapped between the contrasted cultures of America and Japan, and ultimately rejected by both.
