Member Sandra Goodsell commented: “The Hastings Sinfonia has built a reputation for playing popular, well known classics, together with some exciting new works, giving a balanced programme suitable for everyone. In our summer concert we are performing some 16 varied works causing nightmares for our librarians, but great fun for the orchestra and hopefully the audience too.

“For this concert we are joined by soloists - Ayaka Tanimoto (mezzo soprano) Thomasin Trezise (soprano) and Daisy Noton (flute) together with great guest musicians. We are delighted to be performing two new romantic arias from Polo Piatti’s new opera Mata Hari, and are looking forward to performing the first movement of Mozart’s flute concerto with the young very talented flautist Daisy Noton.

The Hastings Sinfonia prides itself in being a friendly inclusive orchestra, who values its members, our rehearsals are always enjoyable thanks to our enthusiastic conductor Derek Carden who travels especially from London to conduct us.”
