The event at the Marina Fountain, Caves Road, on April 29 will herald the start of 28 days of music on the airwaves from April 30 and culminating in the Hastings Rock Music Fest on May 29, again at the Marina Fountain. Five local bands will be featured at this event.

Factory’s original line-up returned to Hastings during October last year some 45 years after they last played in the town. Brothers Andy and Tony Qunta (12-string guitar, keyboards, vocals and lead guitar, electric violin, vocals respectively), Geoff “Jaffa” Peckham (bass guitar, vocals) and Lol Cooksey (drums, vocals) first got together in April 1970 and from their first rehearsal, Factory was born.

They played a concert in October at the Carlisle to a packed crowd and have been working in the studio.

They are returning again in April to showcase their new album and help raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice.

Supporting them on the bill will be well known local bass-player, Roger Carey. Tickets are £12 in advance and available from The Marina Fountain.

Hastings Rock returns on April 30 and will broadcast 24 hours per day for 28 days locally on FM and worldwide on the World Wide Web. The station has an ever-growing broad spectrum of listeners of all ages who listen year after year and sample its unique interactive mix of audience participation and good music

The station is strictly non-profit making, is run solely by volunteers and each year the station raises awareness for St Michaels Hospice.
