Rye's celebration of the ukelele

The second Rye Ukulele Festival is being held on Sunday July 3 at the Cinque Ports Pub, Cinque Ports Street, in Rye, from 11am.

Entrance is free.

The festival will have 15 Ukulele groups from all over the South East, two Big Busks, and Open Mic from 6pm.

There is a food truck, a wood-fired pizza van, an ice cream van and two bars, as well as two stalls selling ukuleles.

Justine Benbar said: “We are running a tombola in aid of our charity, Ukulele Kids Club, UK. This charity donates ukuleles and tuition to sick children in local hospitals. As is commonly recognised, music aids the healing process, so come and have a go on our super duper tombola! This is a wonderful day out for the whole family.
