ON Friday, December 12, Sidley WI members welcomed the ESFWI president, Dorothy Pope, and members of some of the other institutes in the Marshdown Group to the combined Christmas and 44th birthday party.

A celebration is not complete without music and we were entertained and even joined with songs from Oliver and many familiar songs with a Christmas theme.

We were delighted to welcome Louise Denny, who is well-known in this area. Not only did she play the piano but she had also brought along her accordion, encouraging us to remember all the words of The Twelve Days Of Christmas!

The next meeting is on January 9 when Graham Albon will talk about Costa Rica. This will be a good meeting to begin our new WI year that promises a wide range of speakers and events.

Meetings are held each month at 2.15pm at Sidley Community Centre. Visitors and new members are welcome. For more details please ring the secretary on 01424 218076.
