Stunning alfresco Shakespeare at Arundel
This August (26 & 27), there will be two nights of spectacular Shakespeare, performed al fresco in the Collector Earl’s Garden at the Castle.
Picture the scene: Shakespeare’s heart wrenching tragedy Romeo and Juliet played out by a troupe of professional actors in beautiful surroundings, beneath a moonlit sky.

The Castle’s outdoor Shakespeare performances, now in their seventh year, are a highlight of the Arundel Festival – and one of the UK’s most unique ways to enjoy the Bard’s work.
Set upon a stage in front of the aptly titled ‘Oberon’s Palace’ in the Collector Earl’s Garden, the summer performances allow visitors to be enchanted by both their surroundings and the theatrical occasion.
Castle Manager Bryan McDonald commented: “We are thrilled to once again be part of the brilliant Arundel Festival. Each year, the GB Theatre Co put on an excellent show in our gardens – and I am sure that this year’s performances will be no exception!”
