Mention Aida to most people and they think of the grand opera by Verdi but there is now a modern interpretation composed by Elton John with words by Tim Rice.
Keeping the story intact, the words and music have been brought up-to-date and this show was a great success on Broadway running for over a year, winning a number of awards.
