Expatriot sees the duo finally liberated from their laidback folk shackles to reveal their most hard-hitting album to date.

It’s been three years since their last offering, La Ferme De Fontenaille, which they self-produced on a four-track cassette machine in a barn in France. That was their third album in as many years, a prolific record making streak interrupted to spend much of 2014 touring throughout Europe and North America opening for Tori Amos.

Trevor commented: “We played everywhere from The Royal Albert Hall to The Warsaw Congress Hall, The Greek Theatre in LA, to The Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. It was one hell of a ride, but we were desperate to get back in the studio. When we got home there was only one person we were going to call. No one makes better sounding records than Ethan.”

Ethan Johns is best known for his work with Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne, Laura Marling, Kings of Leon, Joe Cocker, Tom Jones and Paul McCartney.

He said: “I’m so glad I had the chance to make this record with Trevor and Hannah. I got the chance to hear them every night on a tour we did last year and was transfixed by their sound and their writing. There were some new songs in the set and we decided to record them at my home studio. It was a great opportunity to try and capture what they do. It was a magical two weeks. I think it’s a beautiful, honest and engaging record. Its very powerful. I feel really proud and lucky to have been a part of it.”

‘Expatriot’ is co-released by Ethan Johns’ Three Crows Records, and Trevor Moss and Hannah Lou’s Anglophone Recording Company. There is a free single download Galley Hill available on www.trevormossandhannahlou.com.
