‘Small number of people’ isolating after Covid-19 case at Westfield School

A member of staff at a school in Westfield has tested positive for Covid-19, the school has confirmed.

The positive case at Westfield School, in Main Road, Westfield, was confirmed on Monday (November 9).

The primary school’s headteacher Matt Jarvis said: “We have been made aware this morning (Monday, November 9) of a member of staff in our school community who has tested positive for Covid-19.

“We know that you may find this concerning but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are working closely with Public Health England.

“The small number of people who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have received a letter informing them that they must stay at home for 14 days.

“The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well.”

The news comes after another confirmed case at Hastings Academy was reported on Monday.

A student at Ark Alexandra Academy has also tested positive for the virus, the principal has confirmed.
