St Leonards workers sent home after colleague tests positive for Covid-19

A company has directed staff members at its St Leonards branch to work from home after a colleague tested positive for Covid-19.

Universal Transaction Processing (UTP) confirmed a member of staff at its Ocean House, St Leonards, office tested positive for the virus on Friday.

Jaime Lowe, a director for UTP, said all staff members in that office have been advised to work from home ‘as a precautionary measure’.

She confirmed this was UTP’s first case of Covid-19 at its St Leonards office.

Up until Friday, 30 members of staff had been working at the office, which is split across two floors at Ocean House.

Jaime Lowe said social distancing was in place at the office, which can seat up to 90 people.

The office has been closed for defogging and cleaning before staff members will be able to return.
