On Sunday (March 29), another two patients died, according to the data, bringing the total number of deaths in the county to seven.

Then between Monday and Wednesday (March 30 to April 1) the trust recorded a single death on each of the three days. This brought the total number of deaths in East Sussex to ten.

In the South East, 345 people have now died with Covid-19.

In England, the total is now 3,302. The UK total has risen to 3,605 after a further 684 people died in the past 24 hours.

NHS England said all data from March 29 may well be updated in the days to come. They said this is due to the wait for post-mortem tests to be validated before giving a cause of death.

NHS England also said the statistics do not include deaths outside hospitals, such as those in care homes.
