Mark Thomas, Mark Steel, Josie Long, “Sir Ian Bowler MP” (Nat Tapley), Tiffany Stevenson, James Acaster and compere Ivor Dembina will be taking to the stage at the event to raise money for Hastings Furniture Service.

The comedy night line-up has been organised by Mark Thomas, the charity’s Patron, to fund its training projects in the community such as providing DIY skills sessions at women’s refuges in East Sussex.

The sessions provide small groups in community settings with practical skills such as how to put up shelves, create presents from recycled materials, repair broken furniture, paint and decorate the home.

Through these activities people gain confidence in their ability to take on maintaining and improving a home for themselves and their family.

The charity’s core activity is to provide low-cost furniture and electrical goods for households with low incomes in the area, collecting reusable items free of charge and charging different rates in their stores depending on the shopper’s ability to pay.

Mark said: “Social enterprises like HFS can change the world, one chair at a time!”

Tickets are £20. Call 01424 229 111 visit www.dlwp.com to book. For information on the charity visit www.hfs.org.uk.
