Mirror, mirror, on the wall, who is the wickedest of them all?

PANTO wouldn’t be panto without a villain for everyone to boo and hiss and this year the White Rock Theatre has one of the best - the Wicked Queen herself.

Lucy Williamson will make her Hastings debut this year when she stars alongside Sid Owen in ‘The Truly Wicked’ pantomime Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Lucy’s career has seen her appear in productions in London’s glittering West End (Marguerite, End of the Rainbow, Stepping Out, We Will Rock You) national and international tours including Mamma Mia! Rent, Fame! and Les Miserables, and one special honour was when she was asked to perform solo for HM the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh on the occasion of their golden wedding anniversary.

Lucy says of her character in Snow White: “She is truly wicked and out to cause so much trouble. It’s great fun to play villains, as you get to do things you do not do in real life, and playing to the audience is great fun.

“That’s what makes pantomime so special, having always wanted to perform it is a real pleasure to create magic for people every performance.”

Lucy’s advice for anyone thinking of going into the profession is “you have to really love it, eat, sleep and breath it” and she adds: “get ready for hard work and you never stop learning, but it can be very rewarding.”

Finally does the Wicked Queen have a Christmas Wish?

“To make the Prince fall in love with her instead of Snow White!” says Lucy.
