Bexhill College students celebrated another year of top A-level results this morning (Thursday, August 13).

Initial indications are that Bexhill College’s A-level pass rate for this academic year stands at 98 per cent.

The college had more than 1,180 A-level entries this summer in 44 subjects.

In all, more than 30 of these subjects achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, including chemistry, English, all the modern foreign languages, all art, design and photography subjects, music, PE, geography, history and electronics.

The International Baccalaureate (IB) students also produced outstanding results with performances exceeding the students’ target grades, the college said.

In psychology, 50 per cent of the students achieved the top grade of seven in the higher paper.

Alongside A-levels and the IB, more than 250 students completed Extended Diploma qualifications this summer, many students achieving distinction stars in their diplomas, including sports science, creative media, performing arts, health and social care and business studies.

These results are equivalent to three A* grades at A-level.

Karen Hucker, college principal, said: “Yet again, our students have produced outstanding results which reflect an incredible amount of hard work by students and teachers plus a lot of support from parents. We are extremely proud that so many students achieved the success they deserve with us at Bexhill College. These achievements will provide students with significant opportunities in the future and we celebrate each and every individual performance.”
