Hastings and Rother Alzheimer's Society is appealing for runners to take part on its behalf in the event on Sunday March 21.

This is a perfect opportunity to dust off those running shoes and raise money and awareness for the branch which offers specialist support to local people dealing with dementia, and those that care for them.

Fundraising Co-ordinator Sarah Neighbour said: "Trying to fundraise throughout 2009 was incredibly challenging, and given that the climate is likely to show little improvement for this year, we are trying to broaden our fundraising horizons and maximise on even more local events.

"There are significant increases in people being diagnosed with Dementia, and with a future that looks set to see heightened demand for our services, we are appealing to our local community for their support."
