‘Amber’ storm warning issued for Monday

The Met Office has forecast for strong gusts of wind on Monday which , when coupled with rain, could result in dangerous conditions.

Gusts of up to 50mph could lead to branches breaking from trees and structural damage to buildings.

The Met Office says: “There is some continuing uncertainty in the timing, intensity and track of the low. However, the public should be prepared for the risk of falling trees as well as damage to buildings and other structures, bringing disruption to transport and power supplies.
