Animal pairs looking for a loving home in time for Valentine's Day

With Valentine's Day looming local pet charity Blue Cross is appealing for homes for some special pet pairs, who just cannot bear to be parted.

The charity, based in St Francis Fields, Northiam, is looking for new owners for three pairs of inseparable pet pals – two rabbits, two degus and two guinea pigs.

Maria Steel, Rehoming Centre Manager at Northiam Blue Cross, said: “These three pairs are all really close and bonded with each other and they’re all species that really benefit from having some company.

“We simply couldn’t separate them, so are looking for special new homes for them where they can stay together.

“We are hoping they will be lucky in love this Valentine’s Day and that it will bring a happy ending for them all.”

Kallis and Armas are two degu sisters, looking for a home together as they get on so well.

They are both quite nosy and like to come to the front of their house to have a good look at what is going on around them. They also enjoy running on their wheel for exercise and exploring the different levels of their house, as well as having a good roll in their sand bath.

Guinea pigs Pie and Jim are looking for a new home together. They both just love their food, particularly hay. They are a talkative pair and love to run really fast around their run – they will even do a little jump when they get excited.

Guinea pigs should only have other guinea pigs as companions.

Bunny pair Pluto and Mars love spending time together. They enjoy grooming each other or cosying up for a nap in a nice warm cat bed.

They are sweet, inquisitive girls and they do like to be stroked, but prefer to come to you when they are in the mood for it.

Rabbits are naturally sociable and become lonely if kept on their own – they are much happier with companionship of their own kind.

Northiam Blue Cross finds homes for hundreds of unwanted and abandoned cats and dogs every year, have now started to help out smaller furry friends too.
