Assault leaves two men hospitalised

A YOUNG man from Bexhill was left unconscious after a violent assault on a night out in Eastbourne.

The 22-year-old, from the Collington area of Bexhill, was part of a small group walking along Elms Avenue towards Cavendish Place after leaving Atlantis nightclub when the attack took place.

A 25-year-old man from Hailsham was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm in Elms Avenue on Sunday, August 22, at around 2.50am.

The man is alleged to have punched the 22-year-old man from Bexhill in the face, before headbutting his 22-year-old male friend, who was from Battle. Both victims were treated at Eastbourne District General Hospital for their injuries and later released.

The suspect has been bailed until Monday October 25, pending further enquiries.
