Babies born to sisters one hour apart

Two Bexhill sisters had baby boys within an hour of each other.

30 year old Shellie Simpson, of Goodwood Close, gave birth at the Conquest Hospital on Tuesday at 6.02pm - her boy weighed in at an impressive 8lb 8oz and is her fourth child.

She already has Lewis, 10, Kai, 7, and Jay who is 18 months old.

Then younger sister Katie Bellhouse, 22, of Reginald Road, had her son within the hour with mum Christine Bellhouse there as her birth partner.

To add to it, both sisters were overdue - Shellie by nine days and Katie by two.

Shellie's husband Paul contacted the Observer to say: "I'm so chuffed...over the moon.

"They don't always do stuff at the same time but it was good for their mum because she was up there for both of them at the same time. Both of them had quite long labours and the hospital staff were amazed that both sisters were there. It doesn't happen every day."
