Bags of skin dumped in Bexhill '˜not human remains'

Police have confirmed that two bags full of skin and bones found dumped in Bexhill do not contain human remains.

A dog walker made the gruesome find in Freezeland Lane this morning (Friday, April 8).

Fearing the remains in the bag could be human, she reported the incident to Sussex Police.

However this afternoon officers confirmed to the Observer the skin and bones belonged to an animal.

Environmental Health officers are investigating.

It is not known what type of animal was contained in the bags.
