Bexhill Amateur Theatrical Society (BATS) held its 80th Annual General Meeting at the Granary Barn, Broadoak Park Bexhill, on March 6.
Chairman Mike Poole reported that 2014 had been a mixed year in terms of drama.
The Taming of the Shrew, staged at the De La Warr Pavilion, had made a profit and The Comedy of Errors, staged in Bexhill Manor Gardens was well-received and also made a profit.
But a planned production of Hobson’s Choice was withdrawn and Talking Heads, which was staged in its place, saw low audience numbers.
He also outlined the productions planned for 2015 - Macbeth to be performed in Bexhill Manor Gardens and A Christmas Carol, hopefully to be performed at the De La Warr Pavilion.
The Treasurer presented the accounts, which were in good order. Officers elected were: chairman, Mike Poole, treasurer, Stanley Bullock and secretary Anne Hughes. Committee members elected were Michael Turnbull, Jojo Turnbull, Kerry Grant, John Taylor and Rachel Steven.
There was general discussion among the Members about the future direction of the BATS.
