Bexhill caretaker charged with grooming girl for sex

A Bexhill caretaker has been charged with grooming a young girl for sex.

Bruce Child, of Jameson Road, appeared at Brighton Magistrates Court on Tuesday (November 23) charged with on-line grooming of a 12-year old girl.

The 63-year-old man allegedly sought to meet in Leicester for sexual activity on Sunday (November 20).

Child is currently on court bail and is due to make a preliminary appearance at Lewes Crown Court on December 20.

The investigation, led by Detective Sergeant Steve Shimmons from the Hastings-based Safeguarding Investigations Unit, continues.
