Bexhill Caring Community Xmas Appeal

Bexhill Caring Community has launched its Christmas Appeal for businesses and residents in the town.

Already many schools, churches and organisations have contributed the proceeds of their Harvest Festival Events. These goods will be packed into hampers for distribution in December to those in need in Bexhill.

Manager Margaret Von Speyr said: "As well as the tins and dried goods, we also like to add luxury items like Christmas cakes, puddings, biscuits, jams, chocolates, sweets, tea, coffee, sugar, nuts, crisps, wine, squash and toiletries. Practical items such as cleaning products are also very welcome.

"In addition to these items, food vouchers are also enclosed with each hamper in order that the recipients can purchase fresh produce in time for Christmas. To those recently bereaved we give a plant.

"For many these gifts are the only present they receive at Christmas.

"In order to fund this campaign, as well as donations, we are running a raffle and tombola for which we would be grateful for prizes as well as monetary donations.

"Goods can be donated at 25 Sackville Road, or at TVC Video Shop at 65 Devonshire Road until Friday December 5.

"Everyone is invited to join us for coffee and nibbles at the late night shopping event on December 5 when we will have a tombola, and a bric-a-brac stall to help raise funds for this appeal. Thank you to The High School, Charters Ancaster School, Amberley, Pebsham School, St Mary's School, Christchurch, St Michael's Church, and the Bexhill-on-Sea Lions Club, Little Common Royal British Legion and Curves for their very generous support.

"Thank you also to TVC and to Cooden Beach Hotel who have already supplied raffle prizes, we look forward to receiving many more.

"If you know of any residents in the Town who would benefit from a hamper or who have recently been bereaved, please pass on their details to The Bexhill Caring Community in confidence and we will help to make their Christmas special."

Bexhill Caring Community was founded over 40 years ago to help the residents of Bexhill remain in their own homes and all gifts and monies raised are used solely for this purpose so please support your local charity.
