Roger Crouch, the man behind the Roaring 20s event, is organising the festivities alongside his dedicated team.

He hopes the whole town will join in the event, called the Bexhill 60s Revolution, set to take place on Saturday, July 13, 2019.

Roger said: “This event will be following on from the Roaring 20s one, which was a huge success in Bexhill. Myself and my team are looking forward to bringing a whole new concept celebrating the decade that changed history.

“We thought the time was right to put on another big themed event, which is something close to my heart.

“With the Roaring 20s, I had to go on history. But the 60s was a decade when I was a teenager. What I love about the 60s was it was a decade of optimism.

“It was also the first decade where you did not become a clone of your parents. It was a revolution in every way, including in 1969 with the Moon landing.

“We will be involving every aspect of the 60s, including music from the era, cars and fashion. The music from the time was exceptional.

“Next year also celebrates 60 years of the Mini.

“I am sure Bexhill will embrace this event as it did with the Roaring 20s.”

Roger added that he hopes to get all the colleges in the area involved in next year’s event, helping with fashion aspects.

It is also hoped people will be able to join in some of the dances from the 60s, such as the Twist.

Roger said: “This event is very much for the community and to bring visitors to Bexhill and to showcase the very best of the town.”

The festivities will be held along the seafront and in the town centre.
