Bexhill dad dies in motorway pile-up

THE DRIVER who died in an horrific motorway pile-up has been identified as Roger Farley, of London Road, Bexhill.

Mr Farley, 45, a father of two teenage boys, died when his Peugeot 206 was involved in an accident on the M11 at the start of the August Bank Holiday weekend, which also killed three others.

The crash, on the southbound carriageway, near the M25 junction, involved three HGVs, including a car transporter, and four cars.

Mr Farley s car burst into flames. His body was identified by dental records.

A father and two children from Kent also died in the crash.

The M11 was closed for 10 hours as police cleared debris and began an investigation.

Mr Farley, a salesman, lived with his wife Sue and sons Devin and Ross.

The family had recently moved from Africa, where Mr Farley had been working for BMW.

A German lorry driver, who was treated at hospital in Harlow for minor injuries and arrested on his release, has been charged with four counts of causing death by reckless driving.

Kurt Boerner will appear at Chelmsford Crown Court today.

On Thursday an inquest was opened and adjourned at Chelmsford. It will reconvene at a later date when police investigations are complete.
