Bexhill East polling date

VOTERS in the eastern part of the town have an opportunity to go to the polls on Thursday, September 9.

Jean Hopkinson's resignation as county council member for Bexhill East and Rother member for Sackville Ward took effect on Sunday.

Nominations for the vacant county and Rother seats close at noon on Thursday.

There will be polling stations at St Mary Magdalene's church hall on September 9 for both the county and the Rother seat.

Polling stations at St Mary Magdalene's School and Pebsham Community Centre will be for the Sackville Ward seat only.

Jean Hopkinson had held both seats for the Conservatives for around a decade.
