Bexhill FM ready to make some waves

It is proving to be yet another exciting year for local radio station Bexhill FM.

This year, the team is back and better than ever, with its 2015 broadcast Makin’ Waves.

Richard Harris, station manager, said he was proud of what the team achieved in 2014 and hoped for another successful broadcast this summer.

He said: “2014 was a big year for us.

“I’m extremely proud of the team, and I felt we were really able to connect with the Bexhill community.

“This will continue into our Makin’ Waves broadcast as we intend to even become more community focused.”

Last year, the team did several outside broadcasts in the Bexhill area, including visits to the De La Warr Pavilion, local primary schools, and residential homes, ensuring a range of voices from the Bexhill community were heard.

The broadcast even included a visit from Bexhill comedian Eddie Izzard, who is a continual supporter of the station.

Mr Harris says the Bexhill FM team is ‘extremely grateful’ for all of Eddie’s help.

The radio station, now in its 14th year of broadcast, is put on and based at the Bexhill High Academy.

Mr Harris said: “With our presence on air, online and in the community we are able to provide Bexhill with something unique.

“We love Bexhill, and are so glad we can give something back.”

The station has continued to go from strength to strength each year and grow within the heart of Bexhill.

Mr Harris said: “It’s not too late to get involved!

“If you would like to sponsor our 2015 broadcast, please email”

Bexhill FM’s Makin’ Waves broadcast will be on air from July 4 (tomorrow) through to July 17.
