Bexhill Horse Show set to delight

Bexhill Horse Show will be raising funds for St Michael's Hospice when it takes place at the Polegrove on Bank Holiday Monday (May 30).

The Horse Show is one of the oldest community events in the town, dating from 1903.

It is organised by a small group of volunteers on behalf of Rother District Council.

The event starts at 9am on Monday and is chaired by Emily Lawes Bexhill’s own Para Equestrian rider.

The show features old favourites such as the Coakham Bloodhounds and the East Sussex Shire Horses.

The spectacular pleasure driving class will take a brisk trot about the town before being judged for best in show back at the Polegrove.

There are jumping and showing classes for all ages and abilities from mountain and moorland to coloured horse classes.

Returning this year is the elegant side saddle class and a world breeds parade, showcasing foreign breeds of horses from the USA to Spain and other parts of the world.

The incredibly popular dog show is held with classes for kennel club registered breeds and family pets alike. Classes range from children’s handling and puppy classes to veteran dog and best crossbreed and there is also a fun dog show jumping class.

The Show also includes a variety of other attractions, from trade stands to a fun fair.

East Sussex Astronomical Society will be giving away Star Maps of the night sky and views through solar telescopes of the Sun.
