Bexhill Horticultural Society presentation

"We couldn't fly helicopters and save the lives we do without people like you."

A cheque for 1,659.23 was presented by Bexhill Horticultural Society to Delaine Shearman of Sussex Air Ambulance who described the donation as "fantastic".

County fundraiser Delaine said: "This is of huge benefit to everyone in Sussex because it keeps the helicopter flying and allows the crew to continue with their lifesaving work across the country."

Having accepted the cheque, Delaine described the work of Sussex Air Ambulance and its immediate response to emergencies in otherwise inaccessible and difficult conditions.

She was joined by Norman Franks, local representaive of SAA, who told members at the AGM in St Martha's Church Hall where their money will be spent - it costs 4,000 per day to provide the helicopter service.
